NTU Accelerates AI Adoption Across Teaching, Learning, and Operations
NTU will provide faculty, management support officers (MSO) and programme support officers (PSO) with a premium suite of Google AI tools under its NTU2030 strategy. From August 2026, all NTU undergraduates will receive access and computing credits to build AI agents. Ranked third in Asia and 12th globally in the most recent QS World University Rankings, NTU aims to embed AI in 40% of undergraduate courses by 2030.
Health for Life in Singapore (HELIOS) Study Reaches 60,000 Participants
LKCMedicine’s population cohort study has successfully recruited 60,000 participants, crossing the halfway mark of its target of 100,000. This major milestone reflects the strong commitment of the team and growing community engagement. It marks significant progress in advancing large-scale research efforts and strengthening the impact of population health studies.
LKCMedicine Clinches OpenGov Asia Recognition of Excellence (ROE) Award
The Accelerating Digital Excellence and Process Transformation (ADEPT) Office was recognised at the 11th Annual Singapore OpenGov CXO Leadership Forum for its whole-of-School effort to boost productivity, streamline operations and empower staff through the development and deployment of AI tools and automation. The ROE Awards celebrate organisations that embrace innovative and bold digital transformation.
Professor Lim Kah Leong Receives Singapore Neuroscience Association (SNA) Lifetime Achievement Award
Prof Lim, Neuroscience and Mental Health Programme Director, was honoured with SNA’s Lifetime Achievement Award at their 38th Anniversary Celebration. The prestigious award recognises his visionary leadership and sustained role in shaping Singapore’s neuroscience ecosystem and outstanding contributions to neuroscience research.
LKCMedicine Advances Global Collaboration Through Memoranda of Understanding and Strategic Agreements LKCMedicine strengthened partnerships this June through two key agreements. On 4 June, it joined the Chinese Academy of Sciences to advance collaboration in primate brain mapping, synchrotron-enabled neuroscience and AI. On 16 June, a new agreement with Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) will deepen academic exchange and drive joint research, marking a milestone in international collaboration and expanding opportunities for students and faculty.
LKCMedicine Deepens Global Academic Engagement Through Visits and Exchanges
LKCMedicine hosted multiple international delegations from April through June, strengthening academic ties. A University of the Free State delegation explored collaboration in infectious diseases, primary care and exchanges. Visitors from Shanghai Jiao Tong University gained insights into Singapore’s medical education ecosystem. Zhejiang University discussed AI-enabled curricula and potential student exchange. Students from Hong Kong’s SPKC experienced lectures and facilities, highlighting LKCMedicine’s commitment to global engagement and education outreach through structured programmes and institutional partnerships.
Leadership Appointments at LKCMedicine
LKCMedicine marked several leadership appointments in May and July. On 15 May, Assistant Professor Lynn Yap became Assistant Dean (Research Impact & Culture), while Associate Professor Barnaby Young was appointed Chair of NTU’s Institutional Review Board. On 1 July, Associate Professor Jimmy Lee assumed the role of Director of the Academic Partnership Office, strengthening research culture, governance and academic health system collaboration.
