WKWSCI students earn international recognition at the D&AD New Blood Awards 2026

Students from the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) have earned international recognition at the D&AD New Blood Awards 2026, with three teams receiving Wood Pencils at one of the world's leading competitions for emerging creative talent.

The award-winning work was developed through an undergraduate advertising module and a Master of Media and Communication (MMC) module taught by Senior Lecturer Ms Wong Pei Wen. Across both modules, students respond to live industry briefs, collaborate with creative professionals and develop ideas for real-world audiences.

Widely regarded as one of the world's most prestigious competitions for emerging creative talent, the D&AD New Blood Awards recognise outstanding student work from leading universities around the world. Success at the awards gives students the opportunity to benchmark their ideas against international standards while gaining recognition from professionals across the global creative industry.

The D&AD New Blood journey gave our students a powerful platform to learn from industry professionals, stretch their creative limits and showcase their work on an international stage. We celebrate the dedication of every student who stepped up to the challenge, and we extend our deepest thanks to the creative leaders who mentored them along the way, from the extended mentorship provided during Busan MAD STARS for the 2025 cohort to feedback sessions at The Pencil Sharpener Night for the 2026 cohort. Through this hands-on mentorship, our students continue to grow as agile creative thinkers and communicators.
