First Overseas Medical Outreach of our First-Year Medical Students

Twenty of our medical students participated in the School’s first overseas voluntary extracurricular activity: an excursion and medical outreach to Indonesia. The itinerary also gave the students the chance to go into several villages for a community-based outreach.

The students undertook different tasks which included sorting out and labelling medicines, teaching dental hygiene, measuring blood pressure, weight and temperature, and interacting with the children from the villages.

Profs Pang and Wilder-Smith meanwhile screened and treated many patients. Altogether, the group attended to more than 400 patients.
