WKWSCI Asst Prof Pei Sze Chow Receives MOE START Award
Congratulations to Asst Prof Pei Sze Chow on receiving the prestigious START Award, administered by Singapore’s Ministry of Education (MOE).
The Singapore Teaching and Academic Research Talent Scheme (START) supports aspiring academics in their pursuit of impactful research and teaching careers at Singapore’s Autonomous Universities. This year, only 21 recipients were honoured with the START Award in recognition of their academic excellence and potential. The award ceremony took place on 1 August 2025 and was officiated by Minister for Education Mr Desmond Lee.
Reflecting on the recognition, Pei Sze shared, “To be supported by mentors and colleagues across WKWSCI, CoHASS, and NTU is nothing short of transformative. Receiving the Inauguration Grant is an honour and serves as vivid encouragement for me to keep contributing to our research, teaching, and learning communities with care, curiosity, and constancy.”
Pei Sze specialises in Digital Culture and New Media at WKWSCI. Prior to her return to Singapore in 2024, she was based at the University of Amsterdam’s Department of Media Studies, the world’s top-ranked department for media and communication studies. Armed with over a decade of academic experience in research-intensive institutions in the United Kingdom, Denmark, and the Netherlands, she is now focused on advancing the next phase of her research career at WKWSCI, Asia’s leading institution for communication and media research.
We are proud to see her dedication to academic excellence and meaningful contributions recognised on the national stage.
