Celebrating the WKWSCI Class of 2026

The Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information celebrated the Class of 2026 at this year’s Convocation, marking the completion of their studies and the experiences that shaped their time at WKWSCI.

From lectures and project work to internships, overseas opportunities and friendships formed along the way, graduates developed the knowledge, skills and perspectives they will carry into the next stage of their lives and careers. 

Alumnus Raymond Chin (CS’01), Chief Creative Officer, Innovation APAC at VML, returned to deliver the Convocation address. Drawing on his own career, he encouraged graduates to embrace uncertainty and highlighted how a communication education can equip them to adapt, connect and create across a changing professional landscape. 

Representing the graduating class, valedictorian Gladys Phua looked back on the experiences, friendships and lessons that defined the Class of 2026. Quoting environmental educator David W. Orr, she reminded her peers that society needs not only successful people, but also “peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind”. She also thanked the faculty, staff, families and friends who supported the graduating class throughout their studies. 

As they join the WKWSCI alumni community, the Class of 2026 will take their knowledge and creativity into a wide range of fields, using communication and information to shape ideas, inform decisions and contribute to the communities they serve.
