Singapore to Welcome 1,700 Global Experts for 2025 International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) Conference, Empowering Global Dialogue on Environmental Sustainability

The Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is set to host one of the world’s largest and most influential gatherings in media and communication research in July.
The conference will take place from July 13 to 17, 2025 on the NTU campus, with the theme "Communicating Environmental Justice: Many Voices, One Planet".
As this year’s conference organiser, NTU’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) will gather a vibrant and global community of academics, researchers, policymakers, media professionals and NGO leaders from 70 countries, including Australia, Brazil, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Finland, France, New Zealand, Nigeria, and the United States.
AI and the Environment
With more than 480 sessions and panels across five days, the conference will cover thought- provoking and timely topics, such as the role of artificial intelligence in environmental communication, challenges in environmental journalism, diversity in sustainability campaigns, community-driven activism, and the influence of cultural narratives on environmental awareness.
Against the backdrop of Singapore’s world-renowned urban innovation and green leadership, IAMCR 2025 aims to catalyse the translation of research into policy, empowering decision-makers with insights and diverse perspectives to shape a more equitable and sustainable world while inspiring new partnerships and amplifying diverse voices from different corners of the planet.
