Filament 2026 Brings 12 Student Films to the Big Screen

Filament 2026 brought together family and friends for a private screening at Filmhouse, marking an important milestone for graduating students from the Broadcast Media and Cinema Studies track at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI).
As an annual showcase, Filament highlights the final-year projects of students, presenting a diverse slate of films that reflect their growth as storytellers. This year’s edition featured 12 films, comprising 6 narratives and 6 documentaries, each developed over months of research, production, and post-production.

The programme was presented across three screening segments, taking audiences through a range of perspectives, genres, and storytelling approaches. Each segment concluded with a Q&A session, where students shared insights into their filmmaking process, the challenges they encountered, and the intentions behind their work.
Organised entirely by students, Filament underscores the collaboration and effort behind bringing these projects to life. More than just a screening, it is a platform that marks the culmination of their academic journey and the stories they are ready to share.
