Young adults unaware of hidden sugars in food and drinks

A survey conducted by four final-year students from NTU’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information showed that up to 90 per cent of young adults are unable to identify hidden sugars added to food and drinks. A nutritionist said that after gaining autonomy in their diet, young adults tend to take in more sugars but this can lead to developing sugar-related diseases such as diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular diseases.
