A small-scale survey conducted by NTU showed that nearly 80 per cent of Singaporean adults have not taken any diabetes test in the past three years. This result was concluded from a survey conducted by four NTU students with 250 adults between October to November last year. The survey also found that whether an individual takes the test could be related to his or her income level. Low-income earners are less willing to test for diabetes than high-income earners.
