NTU works with KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital to provide free Thalassemia test

Shin Min Daily News, Feb 24, page 8

A group of students from WKWSCI at NTU are exploring the topic of thalassemia, a lesser-known inherited blood condition, for their final year project. Of the 201 people they surveyed, 72 per cent do not know about the disease. The students hope to encourage couples planning to have children to go for thalassemia screening, and are working with KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital to provide free screening at the Chatuchak SG Night Market.
