More citizens being health-conscious; from sugar drinks to bottled water
Shin Min Daily News, 5 Jun, page 6
According to data from Euromonitor International, sales of bottled water have gone up to $1.794 billion in 2018 as compared to $1.613 billion in 2013, which indicates that people are more health-conscious. However, the increased sales of bottled water also means an increase in discarded plastic bottles, which is bad for the environment. Four students from Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information therefore started a project called DrinkTapSG, which aims to encourage people to reduce their use of bottled water and drink tap water instead.
