Drink from the tap: Students on a mission to cut bottled-water consumption
TODAY Online, 10 Feb
Ms Erny Kartolo, a final-year undergraduate at NTU’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, and three teammates have started the Drink Wise, Drink Tap campaign. The movement aims to show that tap water is accessible everywhere and to nudge the public to drink tap water instead of bottled water, so as to reduce plastic waste. Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State (Environment and Water Resources) praised their campaign to build a “refill culture by encouraging people to bring their own reusable water bottles”. The team tied up with the PUB, and secured a series of grants, including the National Environment Agency’s Climate Action SG grant and National Youth Council’s Young ChangeMakers grant.
