Admissions

Our Admissions Committee is committed to forming a diverse cohort that comprises individuals with different academic, professional backgrounds and life experiences. We strongly believe that a student's learning experience is enriched when they leverage on perspectives, experience and network of a highly diverse group of students. Our past and current students include nurses, physiotherapists, medical doctors, social workers, civil servants, lecturers, engineers and professionals from the financial sector.

Applicants should possess:

  • ​​​​​​​​a good bachelor’s degree; and
  • a passion for working with older people or on ageing-related matters

International applicants whose medium of instruction was not in English at the tertiary level should have:

  • ​an IELTS score of 6.0; or
  • TOEFL internet based score of 85

Course exemptions  

Students may be eligible for exemptions of up to 6 academic units (AUs) if they have:

  • A graduate diploma in gerontology or an ageing-related field.
  • A graduate or FlexiMasters certificate from NTU in gerontology or an ageing-related field.

These exemptions are subject to approval on a case-by-case basis. Students can apply for the exemption once they have been admitted to the programme. Those granted exemptions will receive a tuition fee subsidy of up to $5,000.

1. Application form (completed and signed)
2. One recent passport-sized Photograph
3. Local applicants: Photocopy of NRIC
International applicants: Photocopy of Passport
4. Photocopy of Employment Pass/Work Permit/Dependent's Pass/LTVP, if any
5. Photocopy of the original Degree Scroll(s) and original University Transcript(s) must be in English.
Otherwise, an official English translation must be provided.
6. Photocopy of IELTS / TOEFL (for international applicants graduated from universities with non-English medium of instruction. The result should not be more than 2 years from the issued date of the certificate.)
7. Photocopy of Professional Qualifications/Membership Certificates, if any
8. Two reference letters (e.g. supporting letters from your employers or referees)

  • The maximum file size per email submission is 15MB.
  • There is no refund for application fee.
  • Late or incomplete applications will not be processed.​
