Sustainable Built Environment

Buildings consume around 40% of global energy and are the largest contributor to global GHG emissions in a report by United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). Increasing urbanisation globally will lead to the continual rise in energy consumption in buildings and efforts are needed to stem this rising tide. In Singapore, non-residential and residential buildings consume ~50% of total electricity generation.

ERI@N’s Sustainable Built Environment (SBE) programme focuses on research, development and demonstration of innovative, energy efficient and cost effective solutions for the built environment.
