Multi Energy Systems and Grids

Singapore depends mainly on imported oil and gas to meet its energy demand, and is acknowledged as being an alternative-energy disadvantaged economy, the nation's key strategy to mitigate GHG emissions is to increase energy efficiency in all sectors of the economy and increase the integration of renewables. While significant efforts and inroads have been made towards advancing energy efficiency in office buildings and residential sectors, efforts for energy efficiency advancements in industrial estates has been very limited and challenging. The Multi-Energy Systems and Grids (MESG) team focuses on the next generation grids both: next generation electric grids and also next generation multi-energy grids and multi-energy systems.
