Heatmap to assess distribution grids hosting capacity and constraints
The Energy Market Authority (EMA) will be collaborating with ERI@N to assess and map the distribution grid hosting capacity and constraints in Singapore's landed residential estates.
The research collaboration agreement was announced during the Asia Clean Energy Summit with a photo opportunity between EMA's Assistant Chief Executive (Energy Technologies Division) Eugene Toh and ERI@N's Executive Director Prof Madhavi Srinivasan.
With a rise in deployment of solar PVs, electric vehicle charging stations and other distributed energy resources (DER) in landed housing estates, the project will focus on developing a heat map to better understand the hosting capacity, identify potential network constraints, as well as assess the readiness for increased DER integration.
