The wedding of Singapore singer and actress, Hannah Delisha, to former Manhunt model, Imam Shah, last weekend surprised her fans as not much was known about their love story which has been going on for five years. The newlyweds received praises from citizens and fans who respected the couple’s need for privacy. Artists around the world have kept secret about their love or marriage lives for various reasons. In a quote published in The Straits Times (2014) , Liew Kai Khiun who was then an assistant professor at NTU believed some celebrities found it crucial to appear single as marriage "represents the end of youthful innocence, which would be difficult for younger fans to accept because they are precisely attracted to these traits of the young celebrities".
