Young people do read newspapers, and books too

A survey of more than 1,000 19-year-olds by The Straits Times in partnership with SUSS showed that nearly one-third of respondents said they read e-newspapers, while a fifth said they read print versions. About 48 per cent said they read fiction books. Asst Prof Saifuddin Ahmed from NTU’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information said there is a link between being informed and opinionated.
