Tertiary education institutes introduce lessons to help students identify fake news

Three polytechnics and universities of Singapore have recently introduced lessons to tackle the growing problem, which has worsened globally. NTU’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information has introduced relevant content into current modules to combat the rampant spreading of fake news nowadays. Students are taught to do credibility checks on sources, cross-referencing, and use of authoritative sources to identify fake news.
