Sales of set-top boxes to be banned this year

The Ministry of Law has announced the proposed changes to the Copyright Act this year and will ban the sales of set-top boxes. Assoc Prof Ang Peng Hwa from NTU WKWSCI agrees with the government’s move that it is more effective to prohibit sellers from selling set-top boxes. He pointed out that to fulfil Singapore’s Smart Nation vision to become a knowledge economy hub, Singapore has the full responsibility to implement counter-piracy measures.
