​Mobile phones are a pain in the neck

That cautionary tale about the mobile phone and the damage it can do to your health just got real. Orthopaedic surgeons and chiropractors have seen a surge in young people – some as young as six – with neck aches, wrist injuries and back pains. Twelve-year-olds here spend more than 61/2 hours daily on electronic devices, according to a study by think-tank DQ Institute and NTU in 2016. Even nine-year-olds are spending about 31/2 hours daily glued to a screen.
