Commuter satisfaction in public transport has dipped

938 FM Live, English radio news, 8am

The image of MRT services has taken another beating, with public satisfaction falling for the first time in three years, dragging down the overall satisfaction levels for public transport in Singapore. In the talkback programme, Wong Pei Wen, a lecturer with NTU’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, talked about the communication efforts which SMRT has made in the last year. She said transportation is an essential service people rely on daily, in the predictability and accessibility, and they expect honesty, transparency and timely updates. She also said SMRT should continue to engage commuters, give better communication through timely updates, and do a better job in operations recovery and to provide more transport alternatives during breakdowns.
