​Celebrating 50 years of Sesame Street

Various activities and events in Singapore have been organised to mark the 50th anniversary of the popular children’s show Sesame Street. Sesame Street is probably one of the first children’s programmes to incorporate the concept of edutainment, which is intended to be both educational and enjoyable, said Asst Prof Liew Kai Khiun from NTU’s WKWSCI. Sesame Street’s enduring appeal lies in its focus on inclusivity, acceptance and its community of characters, he added.
