While the Trump-Kim summit on June 12 will be closely followed by the South Korean community here, their anticipation and excitement was not matched by the Americans living in Singapore, as most were generally indifferent to the visit by United States President Donald Trump. While the summit has been lauded as an opportunity to help move the peace process forward, American Nikki Draper, 55, a senior lecturer at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, is “not convinced” by Mr Trump’s handling of international issues. She felt that Mr Trump is the wrong person for the job, and that he may inadvertently make things worse.
