​Ah Lian’s light-hearted interview with Shanmugam on fake news law

On using Ah Lian, the alter ego of actress Michelle Chong, to interview Home Affairs and Law Minister K. Shanmugam about the proposed fake news law, Wong Pei Wen, lecturer from NTU Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information said that the government’s top-down approach to communication has changed. Wong said that although the audiences know they are paid collaborations, the interactions between the personality and Minister is humorous and more engaging for the audience.
