Scholarship-Supported PhD Project Opportunity (January 2027 Intake)

Project Title: Direct Cell Reprogramming for Biomedical Applications
Supervisor: Assoc Prof Yen Choo (yen.choo@ntu.edu.sg)

This PhD project explores innovative approaches for direct cell reprogramming to generate clinically relevant cell types for regenerative medicine, cell therapies, and biomedical research. The research aims to develop scalable cell manufacturing technologies by identifying transcription factor combinations that can efficiently convert one cell type into another for high-value biomedical applications. For more details, please refer to the project description here

Cell types we may derive in this project have diverse applications, including in:

1) Developing advanced cellular/tissue models for biomedical R&D,

2) cGMP manufacturing of cell and gene therapies, including allogeneic immunotherapies, and

3) in vivo reprogramming for regenerative medicine and autologous immunotherapies.

Scholarship Funding: Funding support will be provided for a suitable candidate.

Interested applicants are encouraged to contact Assoc Prof Yen Choo directly at yen.choo@ntu.edu.sg, with a copy of your CV, for consideration.

Eligibility: Open to Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents.
