Admission Criteria & Eligibility

  • A Bachelor’s degree with at least a Distinction or Second Upper Class Honours (or equivalent), or a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
  • Confirmation from a proposed supervisor to supervise your PhD studies
  • Pass an English Proficiency Test (TOEFL iBT or IELTS), or the medium of instruction for the Master’s or Bachelor’s degree was fully conducted in English (a letter from the university confirming this must be provided). TOEFL iBT ≥100 or IELTS ≥6.5, with results within two years.
  • The GRE General Test score is optional but strongly encouraged for applicants who are not graduates of Singapore autonomous universities. A minimum combined score of Verbal + Quantitative ≥ 319 and Analytical Writing ≥ 3.5 is recommended. Test dates must be within five years.
  • Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit:

–       A list of publications (please indicate if you are the first author, co-first author, or co-author, and provide full publication details)

–       A list of conference presentations (indicate if you were the presenter)

–       A summary of relevant research experience obtained after completing your Bachelor’s degree
