Starting a new medical school gives us the chance to innovate and introduce best practices of medical programmes around the world. LKCMedicine is staffed by a distinguished faculty from Singapore and other parts of the world. Tan Tock Seng Hospital, LKCMedicine’s primary partner teaching hospital, has consistently been voted by medical students as the top teaching hospital in Singapore. We also partner other well-established healthcare institutions to give you clinical training that is relevant and meaningful.

The curriculum is designed to combine science and medical teaching so that your medical knowledge is imbued with the principles of the scientific basis of medicine. You will work regularly with simulations and simulated patients to develop your confidence and competence when dealing with real patients. Our Team-Based Learning approach hones your teamwork, communications and collaborative decision-making skills, while the integration of an extensive technology-enhanced learning ecosystem into the curriculum means you can learn anytime, anywhere.

We want you to have a deep understanding of the way illness and disease affects patients and their loved ones. Your clinical training will occur across the full range of healthcare environments. You will be given earlier, more extensive exposure to clinical environments and patients than in most traditional medical programmes. Putting patients at the heart of what we do is the ethos of our School. This ethos will guide you through your studies and in the care you deliver.

We have created a comprehensive House System that allocates personal tutors to individual students for guidance and mentorship throughout your years of study at LKCMedicine. House Tutors are LKCMedicine faculty committed to helping you succeed in the programme. You can discuss your wellbeing and academic progress while building relationships with fellow students in your House.

You will be trained to work effectively as a key member in healthcare teams while having a global understanding of the issues that influence healthcare and the medical profession. We will equip you with the skills to take on leadership roles within healthcare teams, the hospitals and in the broader healthcare setting.

We understand that your time at university is one of the most pivotal times in your life. With a variety of student facilities and activities at both campuses, no two days are alike. Beyond the classroom, you will have an extensive choice of Halls of Residence, Clubs, Societies, special interest groups, sporting and recreational activities.

Student engagement and representation is valued at LKCMedicine. You will have the opportunity to participate in the School’s governance and administrative committees and provide feedback on the programme and student experience. Your membership in the Students’ Medical Society and Students’ Union will also allow you to shape the co-curricular student life and play a role in peer mentorship and support.
