Applying for a scholarship at NTU
If you wish to be considered for a scholarship, you should submit your online scholarship application immediately after you’ve completed their your admission application. The scholarship application deadline is the same as the admission deadline.
Once we’ve received your admission and scholarship applications, we will review your application against all available scholarships and awards within the selected scholarship types. You can to be considered for more than one type of scholarship.
What to do and expect
1. Apply
In one sitting online
- Log in with your application number
- Select the scholarship types you want
- List your top 3 achievements
- Upload a 250-word essay
- Submit
2. After you submit
Two quick tasks
- Upload a passport-sized photo
- Send the referee URL to your referee*
*Your referee has 7 days to submit their appraisal
3. Interview
If shortlisted
- Check your email regularly
- One interview may cover several scholarships
- Dress smart casual or business attire
Please note that the University Engineering Scholarship and the Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship to Encourage Upgrading (LKY–STEP) Award are administered by a secretariat that rotates amongst the universities. For the latest secretariat and details on how to apply, please refer to our scholarship .

Outcomes
We will usually inform you of the outcome of your application within 2 to 3 weeks after the interview. You need to accept your scholarship offer by the stipulated deadline.
If your application is unsuccessful, you still have options, including short-term scholarships and financial aid schemes. Short-term scholarships are tenable for one year.
We also offer scholarships for current students, including talent and short-term scholarships. In addition, scholarships from external organisations are also open to current students. Students are notified via email and applications are open from 1 to 31 July every year.
