In this commentary by Assoc Prof Chen Rui (transliteration) from Communication University of China, who is now a visiting NTU WKWSCI, he discussed about the Russian-Ukrainian war and how the ‘ground war’ in social media era showed unique characteristics, among which the term "cognitive warfare" was frequently mentioned by the media and academia.

For many global social media users who did not personally experience the war, the biggest impact of the Russian-Ukrainian war may have been to change their perceptions of Russia, Ukraine and the many other countries involved, including the world order.
