A study has found that since the COVID-19 outbreak, the public has been exposed to news related to the coronavirus, but most of these news are inaccurate or fake. This is one of the four studies conducted jointly by the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID), NUS, and NTU to understand the impact of social behaviours on the pandemic, and provide a basis for policy makers when formulating policies. Preliminary findings from a study conducted by NTU and A*Star show that fear dominated public sentiments at the beginning of the outbreak, but this turned gradually into anger. At the same time, resilience and civic pride also surfaced.
