On 14 January 2026, Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Wuhan University’s Game Culture Research Centre (WHU-GCRC), China. The partnership marks a significant step in strengthening academic and research collaboration between the two institutions in the areas of human–AI interaction, game culture, and digital media.

Under the MOU, WKWSCI and WHU-GCRC will pursue a range of collaborative initiatives, including:

Joint research projects in artificial intelligence, game culture, and digital media
Co-organisation of international conferences, workshops, and exhibitions
Student engagement opportunities, such as research projects, internships, and training programmes
Joint publications, grant applications, and creative outputs that advance interdisciplinary scholarship

The MOU was signed by Professor Jack Qiu, Chair of WKWSCI, and Professor Xiaoguang Wang, Dean of Wuhan University’s School of Information Management. The signing was witnessed by Professor Jon Wilson, Dean of NTU’s College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, and Professor Feng Guo, Dean of Wuhan University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing research and education in emerging digital domains, while creating new opportunities for knowledge exchange, innovation, and student development between Singapore and China.
