Celebrating Our Graduates: NTU Convocation 2025

On 28 July 2025, the School of Humanities celebrated the graduation of more than 500 students across our undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes at Nanyang Auditorium. Convocation is an annual highlight in the NTU calendar, recognising and celebrating the achievements of our students as they complete their education.

We also celebrate the graduation of the first cohort of students, from the Master of Arts in Creative Writing and Publishing, and the Master of Arts in Linguistics.

The Guest Speaker was Professor Kwok Kian Woon, Vice-Chancellor, University of the Arts Singapore. No stranger to the School of Humanities, Prof Kwok was formerly a founding leader of the NTU School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HSS) before taking on the role of Associate Provost of Student Life. In his address, he spoke about the importance of being ready to take on risks and challenges in the next global chapter. He congratulated the graduates on their achievement and shared that he was excited to see their contributions in the future.

The Valedictorian of the School of Humanities, Class of 2025 was Ms Hnin Oo Wai. She shared about her memory of taking her first lectures in university and the journey that the students went through. Encouraging her fellow graduates to embrace the unknown challenges ahead, she reminded them of the uncertainty everyone have felt during different periods in their course of study and how everyone has grown through them.
