The Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering with a Second Major in Entrepreneurship is offered by the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, in partnership with NTU Entrepreneurship Academy (NTUpreneur) and Nanyang Business School.
This Second Major program equips Civil Engineering students with essential entrepreneurship skills and enhances their understanding of enterprise and innovation. It also encourages an entrepreneurial mindset, enabling students to navigate the uncertainties of a VUCA world—characterised by Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity—and become catalysts for technological innovation.

Students with outstanding ‘A’ Level, IB, NUS High School Diploma, or Polytechnic Diploma results may qualify for exemptions from selected first-year courses (up to three for pre-university qualifications).

Duration
The Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental Engineering) with Second Major in Entrepreneurship is a four-year, full-time direct honours programme.
Second Major in Entrepreneurship
In addition to the Core Programme Requirements, students need to fulfil a minimum total of 30 AUs comprising 4 Core Modules (12 AU) + Elective Modules (at least 13 AU) + Compulsory Experiential Component (10 AU).
The experiential component requires you to take a compulsory 20-week overseas or local internship with organisations that can include startups, venture capital firms, entrepreneurship support organisations, and innovation setups in corporations.

Beyond careers in environmental sustainability, the Second Major in Entrepreneurship equips Environmental Engineering graduates with the skills and networks to pursue entrepreneurial pathways. Career options include roles in consultancy for innovation management, funding and launching of innovative products, or leading R&D projects.

The programme is accredited by the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) through its Engineering Accreditation Board (EAB). IES is the Singapore signatory of the Washington Accord - an international agreement that evaluates the degree to which engineering academic programmes equip their graduates with the skills required for practising engineering at the professional level.
