About Us
The origins of the College of Engineering (CoE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, can be traced to the founding of Nanyang Technological Institute (NTI) in 1981.
NTI was established to train engineers in three core fields: civil and structural, electrical and electronic, and mechanical and production engineering. It merged with the National Institute of Education in 1991 to form NTU. As the university grew, its engineering disciplines were brought together under the College of Engineering in 2001.
Today, CoE is home to five schools. It is NTU’s largest college and one of the world’s largest engineering colleges. It remains at the forefront of engineering education and research in Asia and offers state-of-the-art labs and research infrastructure.
Over the decades, the college has trained tens of thousands of engineers who now contribute to sectors from manufacturing and infrastructure to biotech, sustainability, and digital transformation. CoE's researchers are leaders in their fields. Their work advances knowledge, drives technological invention, and shapes industry and policy.
