NTU CCEB Professor Awarded Prestigious President’s Chair in Chemistry

We are pleased to announce that our faculty member, Professor Ling Xing Yi, has been appointed to the highly prestigious President’s Chair in Chemistry. This appointment recognises exceptional academic leadership, research excellence, and sustained contributions in strategically important areas of chemistry.

 

Prof. Ling’s research pushes the boundaries of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), transforming it from a specialised analytical tool into a powerful, AI-driven platform for molecular identification and real-time sensing. Her career at NTU demonstrates a unique ability to deliver both deep scientific advances and meaningful technological impact, particularly in predictive spectroscopy, chemical-space modelling, and autonomous SERS analysis. Her leadership and pioneering contributions place her at the forefront of AI-enabled molecular diagnostics and chemical analytics, positions her as a global pioneer whose work will shape the future of rapid, intelligent sensing technologies.
