Welcome to the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

CCEB brings together the strengths of NTU’s College of Science and College of Engineering to advance education and research at the interface of chemistry, chemical engineering and biotechnology. As NTU’s first interdisciplinary school, we are committed to nurturing future-ready graduates and creating meaningful impact through education, research, and service.

CCEB’s disciplines are recognised among the world’s best in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, with NTU ranked 8th globally for Chemistry and 10th globally for Chemical Engineering. These rankings reflect the School’s strong international standing in education, research and industry-relevant innovation.

Located in Singapore, at the heart of Southeast Asia, CCEB is home to more than 2,700 students and 70 faculty members from around the world. Together, we explore fundamental questions in science and engineering while developing solutions to some of society’s most pressing challenges. Our research spans areas such as synthetic chemistry, catalysis, chemical biology, nanomedicine, sustainable food production, circular economy, advanced materials and new energy technologies.

Our students learn from faculty who are leaders in their fields and bring diverse global perspectives into the classroom and laboratory. We offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across chemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering and related interdisciplinary areas, giving students the breadth and depth to thrive in a fast-changing world.

Learning at CCEB extends beyond lectures and laboratories. Through internships, industry collaborations and overseas exchange opportunities, our students gain hands-on experience, apply their knowledge to real-world problems and develop a broader understanding of the world around them.

The possibilities continue after graduation. CCEB alumni go on to meaningful careers in sectors such as sustainability and the green economy, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, chemicals and energy, materials and semiconductors, food and agriculture, and data science and analytics. Many have joined leading organisations and institutions. We are proud of their achievements and the contributions they continue to make.

At CCEB, we believe that asking fundamental questions is the first step towards solving real-world problems. I invite students, researchers and partners who share our curiosity and ambition to join us in using science and engineering to build a better future.
