Data analytics and decision-making are two rapidly growing fields that are concerned with developing techniques to assist managers in making intelligent use of stored massive data. Successful applications include customer segmentation and classification, profile analysis, cross-selling, churn analysis, credit scoring, fraud detection, etc.
In this course, students will be able to view data analytics and decision-making as the discovery of interesting patterns in data that can be used to describe or summarize the data and to predict future instances of the data. Such patterns are considered to be knowledge discovered and important for strategic decisions.
