Travel Award (Overseas Student Programme/ Exchange)

For NTU full-time undergraduates who require financial assistance to fund their approved overseas study exchange, summer/winter, or attachment programmes.

The Travel Award is an overseas grant designed to help offset travel, accommodation, or living expenses during your approved university overseas programme.

NTU has developed various funding schemes to support greater participation in approved short-term overseas exposure programmes for full-time undergraduates. The goal is to provide opportunities for international cultural and industrial experiences, build regional connections, cultivate new skills and broaden their global perspectives, thereby preparing them to be Global Savvy and Future Ready graduates.

Travel Awards (For GEM Discoverer Short-Term Programmes hosted in an ASEAN country, China or India)

Full-time NTU undergraduates who are selected to embark on any GEM Discoverer short-term programmes in ASEAN, China or India (ACI region) and selected emerging economies will have the opportunity to receive one of these awards (one-time only) during their candidature at NTU based on their PCI and subject to fund availability.

To ensure your funds are processed and disbursed before your departure, please refer to information below:

  1. Check Programme Eligibility: Before applying, ensure your overseas placement has been officially confirmed by the respective managing office (e.g., OGEM). Self-sourced programs must have formal, written school approval.

  2. Submit Financial Aid Application: Log into the NTU Financial Aid Portal during the application period. Select the Travel Award and Bursary option (if you haven't applied yet). Submit and complete income documentation for all household members (e.g., latest 12 months' payslips or latest 12 months' CPF contribution statements, or Income Tax Assessment) if requested. Incomplete documentation will delay your assessment.

  3. Outcome: Eligible students will receive an email notification regarding their award quantum. Approved funds will be disbursed directly via GIRO into your registered bank account.

  4. Disbursement: Please assist to update your bank details via the online Student Bank Account Form for the payment to be processed to you. You can access the form on Student Intranet → Finance Matters → Update of Bank Details for Reimbursement/Payment.

NOTE: You will need to be accepted in the approved overseas program to be able to apply for HESL-OSP.
