Singapore Today, CNA 938, 6.20 pm, 10 May (Live interview)
In a live interview, Assoc Prof Edson C. Tandoc Jr. from NTU’s WKWSCI, discussed the spate of social ‘vigilantism’ directed at Covid-19 rule breakers in Singapore over the weekend. He said: “This is motivated by fear and a sense of responsibility. The people who engage in online vigilantism, they acknowledge that what they do would not be effective in discouraging people from breaking the rules. However, it serves as a form of control for some people in correcting a form of wrong we see in front of us.”
