The Economics faculty members are actively involved in research in many fields of theoretical and applied economics. Our faculties are also actively involved in is the Economic Growth Centre (EGC), founded by Professor LIM Chong Yah and the Programme in 2004 and launched in 2005. Over the last ten years, the Centre contributed 1) in offering platform for academic exchange by hosting distinguished researchers, postgrad fellows, and visiting scholars in our seminars, conferences, workshops, and visiting scholar programmes, and by establishing Research Centres Networking Group that consists of eight research centres in four countries, where it allowed  faculty and research fellows across the network to have the opportunity to work with the visiting researcher to expose them to new research ideas and methodologies, and 2) in disseminating research findings on the process and factors of economic development and the performance forecast of East Asian countries through our working paper series, seminars, conferences, and workshops.
