Hindell read English at Somerville College, Oxford, and joined the BBC from the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1988. She has directed approximately 200 radio plays, from soaps to international co-productions. She also has a PhD in Russian from Exeter University, her thesis written on interpretations of Russian literature in British theatre and radio drama from 1985 to the present day.
Her seminar will focus on the specifics and growth areas of audio product (conventional broadcast, streaming, podcasts) with reference to literary/commissioning trends in the UK.
