Joel joined the Chemistry and Biological Chemistry programme in 2014 and is now a third year Nanyang Scholar in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.

Passionate in serving the people and leading the community, Joel has been active in the Welfare Services Club and is currently the Vice President of the club.

With the award, Joel hopes to increase the number of beneficiaries for Share & Care, a community project in collaboration with the Boon Lay and Frontier Community Centre Youth Executive Committees and Family Services Centres. He aims to organise a carnival with booth partners such as SPF, NEA and HPB that allow volunteers and the organizing committee to better understand the challenges the families are facing, and also to enrich the families with the necessary skills and knowledge in healthy living, home security and house hacks.
