Chew Bing Liang Alvin
Graduated in 2017
Chua Soon Khim Book Prize (2017) recipient

Alvin joined the Biological Sciences programme in 2014 and is now a third year Nanyang Scholar in the School of Biological Sciences.

Beyond academic excellence, he is also actively involved in school and community projects.

Aspiring to be a clinician-scientist, Alvin co-founded the Science Fusion Club to develop students’ love for science during his polytechnic days. It was also during this period that Alvin started developing a fuss-free vertical garden system which he hopes to adapt to the public housing environment. He believes that this can promote greener surroundings, provide greater food security through urban space optimization, and stimulate learning and neighbourliness.
