Senior Minister of State Dr Amy Khor visits NEWRI and the START Centre (Jan 2024)

The visit was to understand NEWRI and START support industries in water and environmental R&D

Senior Minister of State Dr Amy Khor visited the Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI) and the Separation Technologies Applied Research & Translation (START) Centre to understand how we support industries in water and environmental R&D.

Dr Khor and delegates toured NEWRI and START laboratories, and viewed the advancements in water treatment, as well as expertise in monitoring air and water quality and reclaiming useful materials from waste; at START, the group also learnt of water filtration membranes, membrane integration, and the various pilots. Hosted by Prof Shane Snyder (Executive Director, NEWRI) and Dr Adil Dhalla (Managing Director, START), Dr Khor also met with Prof Lam Khin Yong (Vice President (Industry), as well as colleagues from the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, National Environment Agency and PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency.
