Seminar 1: A network of automated observation stations, data buoys, tide gauges, coastal weather stations, radar systems, and cameras, all equipped with real-time data transmission capabilities feeds a growing demand for data to support maritime navigation, recreational activities, coastal spatial planning, engineering design, and disaster early warning.

This topic presents the transformation of radar backscatter data into meaningful oceanographic parameters, with a focus on retrieving surface waves, ocean currents, and bathymetry. The results underscore the power of radar-based remote sensing as a valuable tool for understanding complex ocean dynamics and supporting marine operations.
