First-of-its-kind book for LKCMedicine’s 10th Anniversary

2020 marks a significant milestone for LKCMedicine as it celebrates its 10th anniversary. This is no mean feat as within its first decade of existence, the School has established itself as a world-class medical institution.

To commemorate its first decade of existence, an interactive book “10 Years In The Making” was published in June 2021. A first-of-its-kind, the book tells the story of the School’s 10-year journey through an audio and visual feast using virtual and augmented reality. These AR and VR materials interact with the pop ups from the book’s text and photos, chronicling the strengths and uniqueness of LKCMedicine and its defining moments.

The 121-page hard cover book has five chapters: anchored by the School’s five core values: Integrity, Compassion, Humility, Continuous Learning and Professionalism.

The key stakeholders of the School were featured in various forms in the book which also showcased introductions by the Deans of the School, the Board Chairman, Presidents of parent institutions NTU and Imperial College, National Healthcare Group’s  Chief Executive Officer as well as the former Ministers of Education and Health.

Among the VR and AR content is the virtual tour in the chapter “The Perfect Specimen” which brings readers on a tour of the Anatomy Learning Centre, with nugget-sized details of the key features, and an introduction to 3D anatomy models by Assistant Professor Sreenivasulu Reddy Mogali, Head of Anatomy.
