Global Conference for Women Leaders and Emerging Researchers in Materials Science (GLOW) 2025

The 2nd edition of the Global Conference for Women Leaders and Emerging Researchers in Materials Science (GLOW) supported by the IAS Frontiers Workshop series, was held from 29 September to 1 October 2025, at the Wee Cho Yaw Plaza in NTU. The conference commenced with opening remarks from Prof Ernst Kuipers (Vice President, Research, NTU) and a welcome speech by Prof Lee Pooi See (Vice President, International Engagement, NTU), who co-chaired the conference with Prof Ng Kee Woei (Chair, School of Materials Science and Engineering).

The event brought together 177 participants from 25 countries, including Early Career Fellowship awardees, and featured world-class speakers. Highlights included a panel discussion on innovation with NTU alumni founders and corporate industry leaders. Supported by the Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) in NTU, Micron, A*STAR (IDL), Science AAAS, RSC, NML, Small Structures, MRS, and Women@NTU, GLOW continues to empower women leaders, foster mentorship, and provide valuable opportunities for early-career researchers worldwide.
