OER’s Research-Practice-Policy Group hosts Dr Sarah Morton for their inaugural webinar

On 4 April 2024, the Office of Education Research’s (OER) Research-Practice-Policy Group (RPPG) hosted Dr Sarah Morton, Director of Matter of Focus, for their inaugural webinar titled, "Building a research impact narrative: Because numbers don't tell the full story". Dr Morton shared her work using Contribution Analysis to understand and demonstrate the impact of research and other strategies for assessing research impact efforts. The webinar was attended by 35 colleagues from NIE and MOE invited colleagues. Through the feedback received, 92.9% of respondents indicated that the webinar provided them with new insights into performing/conducting impact planning for research, such as using a pathway to work out the contribution of research, the ways research can have an impact, planning for research impact early to attract research participants and communicate the value of research, etc. 11 colleagues also indicated preliminary interest to participate in RPPG's pilot on planning for research impact.
