NIE Researchers Publish in the Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment

Dr Chen Mo, Research Scientist at the Centre for Research in Child Development (CRCD), has published a paper in the Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment based on findings from her research project studying the “Development of a Computerized Adaptive Test (CAT) for the Activities and Participation Rating Scale (APRS) in Singapore”.

The paper, titled “Developing and Piloting a Computerized Adaptive Test for a Culturally Appropriate Measure of Adaptive Behaviour”, is co-authored by Asst Prof Nah Yong Hwee, from NIE’s Psychology and Child & Human Development Academic Group (PCHD), Dr Nicolette Waschl, CRCD Research Scientist, Assoc Prof Kenneth Poon, CRCD Co-Director, Assoc Dean (Education Research) at NIE’s Office of Education Research, and PCHD Assoc Prof, and Dr Chen Ping, from Beijing Normal University. It details a study of adaptive behaviour—the degree to which a person meets the requirements of personal independence and social responsibilities—which aimed to develop a computerized adaptive test (CAT) of a culturally appropriate adaptive behaviour measure (i.e., the Activities and Participation Rating Scale [APRS]) in the Singapore context for children aged 7 to 12 years.

NIE staff/students can access the journal for free through the LIBRIS portal at https://ntu-sp.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/jsearch?vid=65NTU_INST:NIE
